40 Serene Coastal Bedroom Ideas for a Tranquil Retreat

It has been so interesting to see the coastal design trend evolve over the last few years. We’re moving from very literal interpretations to more transitional coastal spaces that feel more organic, with beautiful natural wood tones and serene colors.

Today, I wanted to highlight some of these key ideas I have been seeing and share a glimpse of the gorgeous possibilities for a modern coastal bedroom.

1.       Island Vibes

I love the laidback and breezy feeling you get from this fun coastal bedroom design. The minimalist approach is so fresh, with clean walls and an accent shiplap wall that adds just the right amount of texture.

The shiny wood floors and that huge, inviting bed are just perfect. What really brings in that island vibe for me are the glass dome pendant light, the solid wood night table, and those little frond accents. Just gorgeous!

2.       Seaside Cottage

This coastal bedroom is so bright and welcoming! It’s also delightfully relaxing. I adore the classic charms happening here, like the rattan headboard and footboard and that sweet wicker bench.

And can we talk about that shell chandelier? So lovely. The white and textured rug brings in a dose of elegance that really finishes the charming look.

3.       Shabby Chic Shiplap

I think this shabby chic accent wall is just perfect for that cool and relaxed coastal feeling. I’m a huge fan of the repurposed vibe, with its unmatched planks and imperfect finish that gives the room such an easy going atmosphere.

You could totally DIY this accent wall over a free weekend. Or, for a quicker route, just go for the wallpaper option!

4.       Coastal Elegance

Wow! This stunning coastal bedroom has such timeless elegance and charming comfort. The classy space includes white walls and a wood themed floor.

I love how the mirrored night table, tufted headboard, and vintage lamp give it that classic, elegant look. At the same time, the white curtains, patterned pillows, and modern art feature give the room a bright, contemporary air.

5.       Silver Seas

The elegance of silver in this design is such a perfect balance to the laidback waterfront vibe. The result is a stunning yet relaxing bedroom that I just love.

The pearl white walls really make the silver shell decors in their white frames pop. That white pallet headboard is so charming and carefree, while the chic white and pale smoke sheets are incredibly elegant.

6.       Bright Nature

Why not let that coastal brightness and relaxed feeling right into your bedroom? This beautiful, bright room features so many gifts from nature that call back to a wonderful seaside view.

I’m talking about a shell chandelier, a weaved rattan headboard, and all those natural colors! A few touches of green and wood really complete the look. Perfection!

7.       White Coastal Cottage

This glorious white bedroom gets so much natural light from its huge glass windows. I love how the bright theme continues with white walls, a white ceiling, and even painted white wood floors.

To keep it from feeling too stark, a weaved jute rug and several potted plants are brought in to break things up. It’s so fresh and beautiful!

8.       Blue Cottage

Practical, comforting, and just beautiful. This snug blue bedroom features an elevated bed with super useful storage spaces underneath.

I think the baby blue walls and white shiplap ceiling are so charming, and they keep the room looking clean and bright.

To finish off the charming design, it has blue glass lamps, a patterned rug, and a repurposed plank wall feature.

9.       Timeless Coastal

I love a beautiful bedroom that can transcend time and trends. This elegant space could have been your grandmother’s, and it’s something you and your grandchildren will still adore.

The naturalist design includes white walls, a seashell chandelier, and a white textured rug. A pair of rattan chairs and a bed with matching wicker head and foot boards complete the look.

It’s just timeless!
