There are so many options when it comes to redesigning a closet, but one of my favourite approaches at the moment is maximizing both style and function.
In this article, I’m sharing some of my favourite closet ideas to inspire you, and help you create the perfect space for yourself. They’re great because they have a really relaxed feel, and you can put in as little or as much detail as you want!
1. Curtained Storage
Running low on room for a traditional closet? No problem at all. I think this is such a great idea.
This curtained-off wall shelving is a perfect stand-in, giving you a dedicated spot for clothes while keeping everything tidy and snug.
Using baskets and boxes is a fantastic way to keep everything in its place and your closet totally clutter-free.
2. Glass-fronted Drawers
Tucking away smaller, delicate items and jewellery in drawers is a brilliant way to keep them secure and organized. The only downside is that hunting for things can be a bit of a pain.
These gorgeous glass-fronted drawers solve that problem completely! It’s such a simple but effective fix.
3. Closet and Laundry
This is just so efficient and smart. What a space-saving hack! It’s absolutely perfect for smaller homes or apartments.
Putting the laundry right inside the closet not only frees up room elsewhere but also means no more hauling clothes from one area to another. It’s a total game-changer.
4. Powder Blues
I just love how the cool, soothing shade of blue helps make smaller spaces feel cozier and way less claustrophobic. It’s bright but still easy on the eyes, which really helps the space appear bigger.
This closet design strikes a perfect balance, pairing the pastel blue with silver and some lovely rustic wood elements.
5. Brown Indulgence
So plush, well-appointed, and just plain elegant. This is the classic luxurious closet. The warm and rich brown wood tones create just the right feel, a beautiful mix of elegant grace and lavish indulgence.
It’s wonderfully understated without being drab, and classy without being flashy. Just perfect.
6. Upholstered Footstool Storage
Why not make that pretty footstool functional, too? Adding shoe pockets inside the seat is such a creative way to hide away shoes and get some extra organized storage.
You could also use the space for magazines, accessories, or even as a secret spot for important documents.
7. A Private Nook
Your closet can be more than just storage; it can be your own special personal space.
Adding a window seat or a comfortable nook gives you a lovely, relaxing spot to read a book, take a nap, or get some work done without any interruptions. It’s a real sanctuary.
8. Skylights Delight
We all know closets are often tucked away in the inner parts of the house, usually without windows or natural light. But even if you don’t have outer walls, you can still get that beautiful daylight from the ceiling!
Skylights will instantly and naturally brighten up your closet. It’s such an easy fix that makes a world of difference.
9. Sleek Black
This closet is the definition of modern minimalist, but it’s also so chic and edgy. Using black as the dominant color theme gives it a contemporary polished look with a cool undertone.
Well-placed lighting keeps the space from feeling dark, and those purple seats add the perfect pop of color.
10. Behind the Wall
You definitely don’t need a whole separate room for a walk-in closet. This behind-the-wall design is incredibly efficient, modern, and so practical.
All the clothes are hidden away from plain sight, but they’re still organized and super accessible. And I have to say, the sleek ceiling lights are absolutely on point.
11. Cosy and Organised
You can really maximize your closet space with some smart planning and an effective built-in storage system. This cozy little closet keeps things beautifully organized with lots of shelving.
The shelves are left open and hug the walls, which makes everything easy to get to. Plus, that exquisite chandelier totally lights up the space and brings in a touch of elegance.
12. Modern Glass Enclosed
Modern homes are all about space and minimalist vibes. This glass-enclosed walk-in closet does away with the stuffy, dark corners of a traditional closet.
I just love how the sleek glass walls open up the entire room, creating a bedroom that feels airy, spacious, and totally modern.
13. Handy Iron and Board
There’s no need to run to the laundry room just to smooth out a few creases. Having an ironing board installed right in your closet is perfect for quick touch-ups.
It’s the ultimate secret to having impeccable outfits all the time! So smart.
14. A Window Seat
This is as charming as it is practical! Installing a window seat in your bedroom closet will give you a lovely personal corner to relax.
This smaller closet is cleverly designed to look more spacious by keeping storage to the sides and adding lots of mirrors.
15. Nifty Corner Closet
Are you turning a random room into a bedroom? You can easily add a walk-in closet with this nifty corner idea.
Just choose a corner, install some glazed glass walls with a sliding door, add floating shelves, and there you have it, you’ve got a closet! It’s so easy.
16. Inner Storage Space
How smart and efficient is this? Adding another layer of storage to your cabinets really maximizes the space. It’s also super handy for storing expensive items or even for multi-purposing the closet.
This one is set up for bag storage in the front and an entertainment center in the back! Absolutely brilliant.
17. Man of the City
So dignified, efficient, and sleek. This one-wall closet has all the space and spots for the urbane city guy. There’s hanger space for coats and pants, shelves, drawers, and even storage boxes.
The dark wood tones look amazing, foiled by some really strategic lighting.
18. Peach and Beige
Bright, feminine, and just so beautiful. I love the stylishly patterned flooring, the bright beige interiors, and all the pretty details.
The intricate chandelier gives a hint of stylish grace, while those touches of peach provide the room with a much softer vibe.
19. A Glass Wall
Let’s break away from the traditional dank and dark closets! A glass wall at one end of your closet is all you need to bring in all the light you could want.
The open shelves on the sides and the wide interior make the room feel wonderfully spacious. And that colorful rug adds such a fun and perky touch.
20. Grey Sophistication
This one is for the modern woman who values her time and never compromises on style. This modern minimalist closet design is just unpretentiously stylish, sensible, and luxurious.
The black touches against the grey interiors give the room a strong yet elegant air.

This pants wall rack is so versatile; you can install it inside a cabinet, against a wall, or behind a door.
This space-saving organizer gives you easy access to your pants, a better view for choosing your outfit, and crease-free pants every single time. It’s a must-have.
22. Open Nook
You can totally forget about needing a separate room for your closet with this open nook design. This closet ditched the doors to create a wonderful, free-flowing open space.
With storage along the sides, a wide bench in the center, and that incredible globe chandelier to complete the look, it’s a total showstopper.
23. Glass and Marble Luxury

24. The Cosmo Guy
Sophisticated, urbane, a real man of the world. The cosmopolitan guy absolutely deserves a closet that complements his lifestyle.
This spacious, stylish, and efficient closet is the perfect fit for someone who is busy, successful, and stylish.
25. Warm Lights
Ample lighting is completely essential for closets, especially since they’re often in areas with little to no natural light. It’s a good idea to avoid harsh, glaring bright lights.
Instead, you should opt for more relaxing, softer, and toned-down warm lights to create a beautiful ambiance.
26. Sliding Mirrored Door
Sliding doors are such a great way to save space, while mirrors give the illusion of a bigger room. It’s a win-win! You can really maximize your space with mirrored closet doors.
This sleek barndoor design is the perfect complement to the room’s modern and rustic vibe.
27. Wood and White
So classy, modern, and timeless. The white interiors do a wonderful job of brightening up the room, while the wood elements keep the space feeling warm and charming.
I love how the reed floor mat adds to the elegant rustic feel. And that pull-out shoe rack is great for keeping shoes out of sight but still organized and easy to grab.

Closet doors offer up so much potential storage space. This idea is perfect for organizing smaller items that you need often, like undies, accessories, and jewellery.
You can install shelves, bars, or racks to keep everything organized and accessible.
38. Bath and Closet
Incorporating your bath with your closet makes a ton of sense when you think about it. The layout saves you from trekking from one part of your bedroom to the other.
This idea will also save a lot of floor space, making it perfect for apartments and smaller homes.
39. Shades of Pink

The bright pink wall, a colorful bench, and that miniature chandelier are sure to delight every girl’s heart.
40. Hidden Jewellery Storage
This jewelry storage is cleverly tucked away behind a mirror or a framed picture. Stashing your valuables away from plain sight and obvious places is so practical and really boosts their safekeeping.
This wall storage within the closet is accessible, safe, and beautifully organized.
